No Other Name

Hi everyone. This past weekend was really wonderful. For me, it was so much fun watching Ken and Leah come along side with their leadership gifts and head up some songs for for our community! 

I wanted to highlight the new song we started doing this past weekend. Preferentially, I LOVE this song. Musically speaking, I think it really is a work of art and really does take me places emotionally when I hear it. The great thing about songs like this is that they don’t forsake really good theology for musicality. 

Theology, simply put, is the study of God. There was an amazing scholar named A. W. Tozer who said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.”

I agree with this. If we see that God is merely vengeful, angry and wrathful towards the world, we will act accordingly towards the world. Even if we don’t believe in God, our decisions and worldview are entirely different than if we do believe in the existence of a higher being. 

I love being a worship leader because I truly believe that God is the only One deserving of our worship and we know that God SO desires that no one perish and that everyone be saved! (2 Peter 3:9)

That’s why I love this new song so much. It’s such a beautiful proclamation of truth… That only ONE name holds weight above every other name.

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (ESV)
